tied on to it. On November night we eat lots of apples and nuts. We also have a barm-brack. We play lots of games on that night, we get three saucers we put water in one a ring in the other and clay in the other. Then the saucers are laid on a table and someone is blindfolded and she dips her hand into one of the saucers.
If she puts her hand in the saucer with the ring in it, she will be married soon. If she puts her hand into the clay she will die soon and if she puts her hand into the water she will cross the water soon. A ring is put in the barm-brack and who ever gets it will be married first.
