  1. Some legends of the district round the Leap Castle, which I have heard from a Mr. Watkins who resides nearby.
    Legend of the Palm bush in the leap grounds.
    At one time during the religious persecution a young lady was about to be thrown down the "murdering hole" in the Leap Castle. She was so terrified at the sight of the "hole" that she jumped from the top of the Castle. There was a small palm bush in front of her. As she was falling the bush opened out its branches and grew up to meet her and enfolded her in its foliage. The girl was never again seen.
