    meat was not very often eaten. Their meat consisted of bird meat such as pheasant, plovers, curlews, which were killed at night.

  2. About forty-eight years ago there was a hurling match at Shinrone, Shinrone and Honeymount were the teams. There were twenty one on each side. The match was played at Barna in Carey [?] Park. Shinrone won the match. The Shinrone players won fame in the field.
