- Severe WeatherIn the year 1902 a hard storm swept over Ireland. Cattle were killed under houses and trees. Hay and straw was blown miles away. A local galvanised shed was lifted by the wind and carried three miles away and later found in a moor.The zinc of another shed was taken by the wind and when found it was coiled up like a roll of paper. The zinc when it landed was driven four or five feet into the ground by the terrific force of the storm. The thirty five rafters were smashed up like match wood.In 1917 there was a heavy fall of snow which did a lot of damage, and(continues on next page)
