- Long ago baskets were made by a very old man named Patrick Slammon of Kilcormac.
First of all he went to the wood to cut some scollops which he cut from the hazel trees. Then he got a penknife and cut them short and paired in each end.
He had a big board with about nine holes in it and he drove them down in each hole. Then he put them in through the holes in the side of it and he continued on till it finished.- Collector
