- In the time of the Black and Tans, two strangers came to a house named Hanrahan's of Cappagh. They said they were two school-teachers from Dublin. They gave them a stop for the night. And next morning about ten oclock a lorry of Black and Tans came along and passed by their house, and on to Mr. Neport's farmyard and searched there.
These two were eating their breakfast, when they were passing over, but they never stirred only stopped eating away, and then they had a suspicion that then they were Black and Tans because if they weren't they would run. The Black and Tans came into this house when they were passing back and blindfolded those two men, and brought them to Woodstock, and pretended they punished them, but they didn't.
Then they came again, and tied one of the Hanrahan's, and burned a rick of hay and straw. Then they brought him off again, and came back(continues on next page)- Collector
