    him two bottles of water, and told him to mind them coming across Scolloghue bridge. The man said he would. When he came to the bridge, he was holding in his hand the bottles. A fairy man came out of the bridge, and threw him off the horse, and broke the bottles. The man went back to the fairy man and told him what happened. Then the fairy came home with him, and looked at the boy's knee.
    He seemed to pull some thing like a knitting needle from the knee.
    He told them to sow a birch tree over the spot where the boy cut the hurdle and if he didn't the boy would get bad again. He sowed the tree, and the boy got alright.
