    He said, 'Good Night', but she would not speak. He said, 'Good Night', again but she would not answer. At last he said, 'whoever you are, I will make you speak', and he went home for a mastiff dog.
    When he came to where the Banshee was the dog would not go near her. So he went home with the dog, got his gun, loaded it and put a bent sixpence in it. He came back again but the Banshee was gone.
    Less than a week later one of the Bradleys died and that night the keening of the Banshee could be heard all over the country-side.
    People thought that something terrible would surely happen to John O'Hara, but nothing did. He is still hale and hearty although it is some years now since he heard the Banshee.
    In some parts of Ireland the Banshee is also called "The Bough".
