Many men of the present day remember the ruins. The present Mr Tennant's grandfatehr named Richard had the ruins removed to extend his haggard. A Michael Tennant, no relation, a poor man who lived near Ballinkillen found during the demolition a big number of "gold guineas" in a hole in the castle wall.
