    About 50 years ago the remains of a castle called Clowater Castle were to be seen near where Mr Tennant's house now stands. Many men of the present day remember the ruins. The present Mr Tennant's grandfatehr named Richard had the ruins removed to extend his haggard. A Michael Tennant, no relation, a poor man who lived near Ballinkillen found during the demolition a big number of "gold guineas" in a hole in the castle wall. He took the money left for America and never returned. A few guineas were left in a crevasse and were later found by another man. The explained to many how Ml
