- (continued from previous page)to the shelter of the rath. It was dark by this time and he went through the rath on his way home as he has done for years but no matter where he went he could not get out so he rambled round the field until day dawned next morning.
- There is a Fairy Fort in Browns Hill. It is near the big door on the Tullow Road. A story is told of John Reilly who lived a the Sraughaun. He worked in Browns Hill about sixty years ago. He crossed from the far side of the farm from his work by the Fort and he knew where there was a big tree upturned by the "Fort" wind for years and he thought he would take a piece of it home with him. He raised one end of the piece to this shoulder but the other end he was unable to stir from the ground. He tugged at it wondering a what was holding it but the perspiration ran down him and he collapsed,(continues on next page)
