- (continued from previous page)It was done in the following way:- the wool was first carded by two cards. The cards were a flat piece of wood like a curry comb with iron teeth in them.
They were rolled together to make the cards of wool which were made in little rolls.
When they were spinning the cards were put one after another and were spun with a big wheel which was called a spinning wheel.
The spinning wheel for flax was a machine worked by the foot with a stool attached.(continues on next page)- Informant
