  1. There was a man one time going to Tullow with a load of turf. In those days they went in the night with the turf. This man set out on the road after getting his breakfast. He went on grand on the road with his turf. But when he reached the church hill, suddenly he saw twenty little lights in front of him. He went on still and the perspiration was pouring off him. Then the trees began to fall all along the road. He could hear the trees falling, but when he got up to it, he would see a black shadow. When he would be there there would be nothing. In front of him the trees would drop and the black shadows still came. The man went along praying for day light and he was afraid of his life to look around. At last when the morning came all the things went away. He got into Tullow with his turf but was frightened after the night
