- St. George's Field is situated by the side of the main road. It is on the top of the Machine Hill that is opposite Ballypierce Lane. it is a desolate and lonely place.
A family by the name of St. George lived in a house in the field. They lived there about two hundred years ago. The ruins are to be seen still, it was a big house and they were fairly wealthy people.
One of the men of the St. Georges, lived a very wild live, it was said that at night when he was coming. home, when he reached the gate he used try to make his horse jump the gate and he used say "I'll give the Devil another chance to take me". St. George's Field is in the townsland of Kildavin and is on Mr. Redmond's land.- Collector
