- Many old fields, bushes, raths etc. exist around my home. One field at home is called Tom Byrne's field. There is an old house there (ca) inhabited some thirty years ago by a family named Byrne. Another field is the Moat field. I have no idea why it is called this but is down under a small morr and covered by hill ferns. Another field in the townland is Laurence's O'Toole's well Park [?]
In the townland of Leitrim now covered by forests there is a rath. Another field in Ballinclea is called the Ratheen field. There is a rath in this place also. The Black Lumps and so on are other familiar titles put on several places around the locality.- Collector
