  1. Our landlord was Sir. Thomas Esmond. He lived in Wexford he was supposed to be a good man he never evicted anybody. In Castlekevin there were four evictions Mr. Frizell was the landlord.
    The names of the people who were evicted were O'Carrolls. Murphys Cullens and Loughlins the reason why they were evicted was because they were not able to pay their rents and taxes.
    The day of the evictions the Sherriff and landlord were there and they put all the people out of their houses and they broke the windows and the doors. One old woman who was put out of her home sat outside on a chair and sang the "peeler and the goat". She was Mrs. O'Carroll.
