  1. One time there was a little boy who was growing old and he was growing no bigger. When he was six years old he was only as big as a daisy. His parents did not know what to do with him.
    "Tom Thumb" they used to call him. At last a giant heard of him and came to where he was living "come with me Tom" said the giant you will soon be as big as your father. Then he took him in his arms and carried him off. Tom stayed with the giant for twelve years and he was fed on giant's food. When the twelve years were up he was as big as his father and far stronger. "You can go now" said the giant Tom's father or mother did not know him when he came back. They were living in a hut and they were very poor. Their home
