- (continued from previous page)If a person has warts on his hands and if he goes and washes his hands in a blessed well, on nine days in succession, the warts will die away. Another cure for warts is to wash your hands in the water that a blacksmith cools the hot irons in.
- Chilblains: Apply lamp-oil to the chilblains. Ivy steeped in vinegar is another cure for chilblains. Tie a piece of cloth around the ivy leaf and put it to the affected part.
Salt and water mixed together and applied to an aching tooth with a tooth brush will ease the pain.
If a person has sore eyes he should bathe them with cold tea.
If a person had warts he should go to a blessed well and dip his hands down in the well and while doing so make the sign of the Cross three times.- Informant
