In the townland of Ballymacrow there is a blessed well. It is said that some hundred years ago there was a convent situated in the townland. - There is a stone trough in the middle of the graveyard in Cranareen. It is supposed to be a holy water font belonging to a chapel stood on this place. The water in this font never dries up even on the hottest day in Summer. There is always a small amount of clear cool water in the font. By dipping the affected part three times in the water of this font people is able to be cured of warts.
