    wide door. Mr Kehoe is the man who owns this forge.
    In Moyne there is another forge. Mr Stanley is the smith who works there. There is a forge in Rathdangan. Mr Doyle is the smith who works in it.
    The implements used by a smith in his work are, an anvil a bellows, a vice a hammer, a rasp, a pinchers, a file and a tongs.
    A bellows is used for blowing the forge fire. It is wide at one end and gradually narrows as it nears the other, where an iron pipe is fitted which goes in underneath the fire.
    The smith shoes horses and asses.
    During the rebellion of 1798 the smiths used to make pikes during the night. A smith is always looked upon as a very strong man.
