"The upper field" gets its name because it is the highest field on the farm.
"The field outside the back gate" gets its name on account of it being so situated.
"The river field" gets its name from the river that flows through it.
"Whittie's meadow" gets its name from a man named Whitty who lived there. In this townland there is a small river known as "Berr's brook." It gets its name from a man named Billy Berr who once dwelt on its banks. On this river bank there is a small well called Katty Rourke's well. It gets its name from a girl named Rourke who used to get water from this well.
"Fox Rock" gets its name from a den of foxes that once were there.
"Mary Harte's gap" gets its name from a girl called Mary Harte who lived near this place.
"The dead woman's shore" gets its name from an old woman who was said to have died there.
"The green hollow" gets its name from the green grass that grows on it. It is situated on the south side of Carrignameil.- Informant
