  2. One of the trees in the graveyard at Crosspatrick grows inside the old ruins. The door appears to have been where this tree grows. The tree grows over a head stone which cannot be read because the trunk of the tree covers the inscription.

    There is an old legend about Crosspatrick which says that when St. Patrick visited Wicklow on his way to Croghan he stood on the stile of Crosspatrick graveyard and viewed the country all around and said "the plague or famine would never come on that stretch of land".
