- Chapel is situated near Red Cross and it got its name from a chapel that stood there long ago. In Arklow there is a certain Lane called Abbey Lane which got it's name from the old abbey which is now owned by Mr Wm Hall of Lr. Main St. There is a Hill at Templerainey called the Pound Hill there was a pound and the hill got it's name from the pound.

- Old crafts are not the same as this days crafts. Hand-weaving and brush making were the crafts of long ago. Brushes were made from bent. Bent is kind of fern which grows on the beach or sand banks.

- Wild Geese are a sure sign of bad weather and when the wild Geese are feeding, one of the Geese has to stand keeping watch and when this goose sees anyone coming, he roars(continues on next page)
