    appointed. The dowry that is generally given to a farmer's daughter in this district is £100, or it's worth in cattle. The next day the groom takes the bride to some town, where he buys her a wedding dress and a ring. On the wedding day all the friends and neighbours are invited.
    On the wedding morning the groom and the groom's man go to the bride's house and then the bride's father hands the bride over to the groom's man, who enters the house first. The bride travel's to the church with the groom's man and the groom with the bride's maid. When they come home, they go back to the bride's house where they enjoy a good breakfast with whiskey for the men and wine for the women.
