   Unlucky things. It's unlucky to hit a horse with his own bridle when it is taken off. It's unlucky to hit any animal with a holly rd. It's not right to leave a wake alone. It's not lucky to throw out dirty water at night (apparently there would be the danger of casting it on the "Good People" passing by - they would be invisible but would exact revenge.) It's not lucky to have the house without clean water at night. It's not lucky to make any use of water that is in the house over-night. (very few keep up to this belief at present) it's not lucky to play "twenty-five" bare-headed. It's not lucky to let a live coal (ember) out of the house on May day. It's not lucky when churning for a person to come in and leave without churning.
