- There are no old ruins in the townland of Drumcullion, but in the next townland of Drumcar there is an old mill. It was not in use for twenty years past. Even though it is a ruin it is still called the New Mill.
It was a very famous mill, and was the finist in Co. Cavan. There is a river flowing past called the mill river. It divides the parishes of Kinawley and Corlough. Some of the mill has been drawn away but still a good part of it remains. Strange stories are told about this mill. It is said that a man was one night grinding corn in it. He had no light but a candle with him. He had a shovel in his hand. When he reached the top of the stairs he looked and saw a big black cat sitting in the window watching him. He hit the cat wth the shovel and the candle quenched. He got down the stairs and left all there and ran home very frightened. Often when people are coming past late at night the mill would be working and when they would come to the door all would cease.- Collector
