- Long ago in this parish there were great heroes. There were many good dancers also. There were two men living in Glangevlin who could dance Horn-pipes, Jigs and Reels and their names were Pat McGovern and James Dolan Legglass. They could dance on the bottom of a pot, they were that good. Frank McGovern Leggless could lift two cwts at a time as he was terrible strong.
Norah Catherine of no fixed address used to sing a song called "Norah Magee". She was a delightful singer and was not ashamed of her voice. Pat McGovern Legnagrow was a great singer also. He was very brave and intelligent, and would sing for the King of England. Long ago the old people used to walk to Cavan to pay the rent and bring a pack of flour home on their back.- Collector
