    The milk was a taking from a lot of people in Corlough. They watched one night, and saw a hare sucking the cow and not leaving a drop of milk with her. A man got a gun and watched for the hare. He saw her, fired at her, struck her, but away she went, and took the milk that night too. He got a crooked six-penny bit, fired at her, and shot her. He saw her running away bleeding, and going in through the window of a house. He followed her, went into a house, and got a woman named Mavitty dying. they lost no more milk after that in the country.
