    when there was no glass and floors were made of clay. There are a lot of half-doors in the district yet. Turf and wood were used for fires long ago. The people had rushlights to give them light and they were made locally. People used to make candles locally also.

    Long ago all the bread was made from wheat. The wheat was grown at home and everything was done with it at home.
