  1. Potato bread was made from boiled potatoes bused and mixed with flour and cooked on the griddle. It was fried when cold. Wheat was ground up between a cairn. The cairn was a hollowed stone with another stone that fit into it. Often bread was made from oaten meal and mixed with boiling water and cooked on a griddle or a grid iron.
