  2. In the olden times marriages were not held until the middle of the day. When the Bride and the Groom would be going to the chapel, there would be a procession of traps after them, and home again to the Bride's house. It is said that Saturday is an unlucky day to get married.
    If you marry in May you will ruin the day.

  3. It is an old custom in this country for strawboys to attend wedding houses. They do have straw hats and coats on them. The straw covers nearly all their faces. They do have a fiddle with them and they do dance and sing on the street
