  2. There is an old man who comes round our district about every month. The only name I've heard him called is McCabe. He comes in an old ass and cart. He would give you safety pins, or needles or shirt studs if you would give him rags or bottles. He never sells anything but he just brings these things with him to give to the people that give him rags or bottles. He is ten years travelling about. He was married and has a home in Cootehill, but his wife is dead. Some people do not be pleased to see these travelling folk
