- Long ago there were no toys for children the mothers would make dolls out of cloth for little girls. She would roll a little wadding in a hard lump for the head and then would cover it with cloth and mark a face on it and then sew on a cloth from the head. The dolls had no legs or arms.
For neck-laces they gathered chestnuts, and made a hole in the middle and then string them. - Q. What is the shyest thing in the world?
A. A Clock.
Q. A riddle a riddle as I suppose a hundred yes and never a nose?
A. A Thimble.
Q. A leaper of ditches a clipper of thorns a little brown cow with a pair of leather horns?
A. A Hare.
