  1. There are many kind of toys now-a-days on the market mostly all of which are made in Japan and Germany. The sort that we are best familiar with are doll, horses carriages and motors of every discription and also teddy bears. In the years past most of those were made in our own country, and the dolls especially were stuffed and made so good that the lasted a generation, and were beautiful to the end. Some of the dolls are made now to walk and talk, but the are what is called golliwogs and are not a bit nice. Long ago for little boys there were rocking horses, which lasted a very long time also, and no matter what abuse they got, they wouldn't get broken, and were not a bit dangerous to ride. The toys then were rather roughly made, but were strong and sound, and nothing going now could compare with them. A great many of the dolls now are made of celliloid.
