  2. The poor scholar - an Scoláire Bocht - was known in this district. He made a sudden appearance at some school, and was always admitted. At close of day. The master asked the scholars who would take the new scholar home with them. There were always too many volunteers. He took a different family each evening - and divided his custom on the houses of the scholars. He also gets a mention in the poem which follows.
