    to come to the lake. The priest and men went to the lake. The priest put on his Stole and read round the lake till he came to where the cross was. As the priest read the water changed colours and began to come round in a ring. When the priest was finished reading the cross stood up in the water. The priest ordered the men to take a boat and go out for the cross. They oared the boat to shore and the men carried the cross to where it was before.
    The cross was wooden.
