- The townland in which I live is called Grellagh. It is situated in the parish of Lavey in the barony of Upper Loughtee.
There are thirteen families in this townland. There are about fifty six people living in it. The family name most common is Tierney.
There are six slated houses and seven thatched ones in it. The townland got its name because the land is wet.
There are no people over seventy in the district. There are no people who tell stories in either English or Irish.(continues on next page)
