There is an entrance into each one of them. It is said that fairy people lived in them long ago. Some people say that the fairies play music in these forts on Hallowe'en Night, and on Christmas Eve. It is said that a man named Tierney cut a tree in a fort and that he died in a week after. It is said the sound of churning was heard in one of the forts in Carriga.(continues on next page)
