    on his horse, but it would not move. When he looked he was riding a buchalan.
    There is a river in the townland with a bridge across it. As two men were going past this bridge one night, they heard footsteps at their heels. When they stopped they saw two stooped figures. The figures asked did they find an old woman and they answered 'no'. They still stared at the two men until one man shouted, "The Lord between us and all danger', and the figures then vanished.
    There is another story, that when three men were going by the same bridge a crowd of small men riding on horses ran across before them, and up to the fort.
    Many people emigrated from the townland to America in former times. The townland is not mentioned in poetry, but the parish is mentioned in "The Lavey Green Walk'.
