- The people of ancient times believed in a lot of pistrogs: the meeting of the magpies. They always said that meeting or seeing one magpie was most unlucky. If they herd them chattering in the garden they would say that sad news would soon reach the house. Such things were not right to believe. One Mag for sorrow
Two for joy
Three for a wedding
Four for a boy
Five for silver
Six for gold
Seven for a secret never to be told(continues on next page)
