  1. This story was told to me by my father. There is supposed to be a crock of gold hidden on Mrs McCabe crockon,. It is in the townland of Granafarna. It was placed there by the Danes and they left a black dog taking care of it. One night my father and Felix McCabe had a dream that it was there and they said that they would go to look for it the next morning. When morning came they said that they would have to have a small egg to hit the dog and that day a hen layed a small egg and the next morning they started out to look for the gold when they got there they saw the dog and they were afraid to hit the dog because if they did not hit him he would kill them and they went home without it.
