  1. Tuesday. No grave is opened on this day. Should a grave have to be made on Tuesday owing to Monday being a holyday a sod or two is taken off on Monday & grave is sunk on Tuesday. Belief is that if grave is opened on that day more deaths will follow.
    Friday. No marriage celebrated on this day as unhappiness is sure to follow.
    Saturday. No change of residence takes place. "Saturdays flit is a short sit" This means that stay in new residence will be short.
    No start is made on any farm work such as ploughing sowing of oats etc.
    Unlucky omens or warnings.
    Unlucky to bring a cat in flitting that is changing from one house to another.
