    Moore sings of the valley where bright waters meet,
    And says in this world there's nothing so sweet;
    But he never had seen or he never did know
    The Annalee waters that flow round Bunnoe.

    In childhood and boyhood and manhood as well,
    How oft on that river I'd linger to dwell,
    And watch her expand from fount, rivulet and stream,
    To strength, grace and beauty like a maid from her teens.

    Her charms unrivalled continue to grow,
    Through Cootehill, Tullyvin, Rathkenny and Bunnoe.
    Perfected in all as she hastens her run
    Through Ashgrove, Belturbet to Erne at
