  1. I heard that long ago the old people used to make candles out of rushes. They used to skin the rushes and roll them in grease and then they would have candles.
    Tom Foster Killeshandra is a great thatcher. He thatches seven beds in a day and he goes round the country thatching.

  2. Andrew Cambell lived in Dernacross used to make creels and bascets he makes them out of sally rods, he boiled them before using them. Robert Maguire was a great thatcher. He would not thatch much in a day but whatever he done he done it well.
