   2. A spirit merchant in Tullamore caused great unrest by selling his whisky cheaper than the rest of his fellow-tradesmen. The reason why was long a mystery. At last a clue was found and during it's proving a deep trench was cut down the street in which his shop was. A clergyman & a Dr (great pals) were standing by the opening. A country man stopped near them and inquired what the men were doing. ''Looking searching for Departed Spirits'' answered the Doctor.
