- I have heard the following story related many times. Long, long ago there lived a man who was very lazy. He was so lazy that he would not move or prepare his meals. He continued in this state for some time.
At length his friends decided to end this laziness, or else the man, So they gave him a week to change his ways and work, if not he was to be buried alive. The week began and ended but the man did not give up his bad practices.
They placed him in a coffin, and went to the graveyard. The people all wondered who was dead, and they wondered still more to see no people after the hearse.
One man was very anxious to know who was dead, he ran and inquired of them. The answer given was "no one is dead", and they told him the story.
The man said "as long as there is potatoes in my barn he shall not hunger"(continues on next page)- Collector
