  1. Oat meal seems to have been in great use around here long ago. It was used in various ways.
    It was cooked as stirabout thick and taken for breakfast. Oatmeal was boiled in buttermilk as a cure for colds.
    Oatmeal was rafled and the thin portion boiled as a thin stirabout for children after being taken off a milk drink.
    Oaten meal was used in many cures, especially in the Cure for a bad heart.
