- Long ago there were many great poets in Ireland. Mr. Fitzpatrick who lived in Garrymore but afterward went to America and died there composed a poem called "Potahee" in which he mentioned the village of Ballinagh a follows.
A little village where hoxters gather
A market house and old oat mill
A village court house where lawyers wrangle
And a rich man's folly on a neighbouring hill.
