    There is an old saying about the winds "A wet and windy May frills the haggart with oats and hay. The west and south wind brings most rain to this district. The robin or top of a tree is the signs of a good day. Then a storm comes the animals go to shelter before it approaches especially the sheep and goats. When the birds are flying high it is the sign of good weather. When they are flying low it is the sign go good weather. The the birds flutter around the doors it is the sign of storms. When the birds come inland it is the signal of approaching storms. In the winter season the cat sits with her back to the fire. This
