    Slanlus a herb common in every field when chewed and placed on a bleeding wound will staunch the flow of blood and prevent blood poison.
    A cobweb is sometimes put upon a wound for the same purpose (not to be recommended. When applied to a burn will cure the pain. Soda has the same effect
    A cut potato carried in the pocket will prevent rheumatism.
    Butter milk heated with plenty of sugar is an excellent cure for a cold taken at night before going to seep produces sweating
    Garlic(one clove) carried in your pocket will prevent a cold
    Buttermilk gruel with sugar is good for a cold
    Boiled flax seed with sugar and lemons is good for a cough
