  1. There is a belief among many who live near Lough Ramor that a light appears on the lake when a member of certain families is about to die. It appears for the Doyles of Maghera and for the Conatys of Caronagh.
The light travels slowly from Newbridge down the centre of the lake. It is also believed that it goes to the houses which the person about to die was in the habit of visiting. Among those who have seen it are Mr Peter Conaty and Mr Peter Growney of Knocknagarton both of whom are alive still.
